Two handbags stolen in Telford burglary

Two handbags have been stolen in a late night burglary at a house in Telford.

Burglars broke into the house on Mercia Drive, Leegomery through an unlocked door sometime between 11pm on Wednesday and 8am onThursday morning.

Two handbags were taken, with a tan coloured one being found in the street later on - still including its contents.

Paperwork from the other handbag was scattered on a football pitch nearby, with no sign of the victim's black leather bag.

West Mercia Police are reminding residents to keep their properties secure at night by ensuring all doors and windows are locked.

Anyone who saw somebody in this area at the time of the burglary acting suspiciously or carrying the handbags, is asked to contact the non-emergency 101 number quoting incident number 0559S of Thursday 3 July.
