Different kind of cat found under bonnet of car in Telford
This tiny kitten had a lucky escape after getting trapped under the bonnet of a car in Telford.
The little chap had to be rescued from his hiding place by RSPCA officers after a concerned member of the public heard his cries from under the bonnet of a car in Madeley.
Elaine Williams, the animal welfare officer who found the kitten – since nicknamed Diesel – said: "The car was an unusable one, it wasn't taxed.
"I think all that had happened was, as an inquisitive kitten, he crawled into the engine compartment under the wheel arch.
"He wasn't physically trapped, he just got lost.
"He is fine after his adventure, although he is very skinny and had fleas and worms which the RSPCA Shropshire Branch have paid to be treated, but unfortunately we have no space to take him in," she added.
He is now in the care of the RSPCA until either his owner is found or he can be rehomed.
This is the second time in recent weeks a kitten has had to be rescued from under a car bonnet by the RSPCA.
Ms Williams said: "A few weeks ago we had a similar situation where a kitten had crawled into an owner's new Porsche.
"We actually had to set a trap to catch him – and I think that one was called Turbo."
The kitten is believed to be around eight weeks old, though he could be younger and is not microchipped so his owners cannot be traced that way, but that may be due to his age.
Ms Williams said: "He is very hungry and is a very talkative little boy.
"When we gave him food, he didn't stop talking even while he was eating it."
Anyone who recognises the kitten is asked to call the RSPCA's national call centre on 0300 1234 999.
