Oswestry couple raise funds for Air Ambulance
A couple have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary by donating hundreds of pounds to charity.
Peter and Mary Williams from Penybont Fawr, near Oswestry, donated £555 to Wales Air Ambulance.
They recently celebrated their anniversary with a party, and asked friends and family to make a donation to the charity instead of give them gifts.
Mr Williams said: "We chose to donate to Wales Air Ambulance after one of our friends was airlifted by them, and we've seen the aircraft land below our property when our neighbour was injured. We very much appreciate the importance of the service in rural Wales.
"We'd like to thank our friends and family for the kind donations."
The couple presented the cheque to the Wales Air Ambulance crew at their airbase in Welshpool last week. The charity replies on donations for funding.
