Cordinaires Dance Troupe showed off their skills with a special demonstration at Asda Donnington Wood.

The dance troupe, which has been running for 32 years, has recently been selected by shoppers at the supermarket as the charity of the month and received a donation of £200 - which they hope to use to attract more young dancers to the group.

They were presented with the cheque, following a performance at the weekend.

Wendy Nagington, principal of the troupe, said: "To be chosen by the people of Telford is lovely.

"We are short of dancers.

"A lot of our girls come from families and of course, families grow up and we can't get younger girls interested.

"We're struggling for little dancers from the age of five."

The group get the chance to compete all over the country in major competitions, recently performing in Blackpool's iconic tower ballroom during the All-England Championships and have also danced at Alton Towers.

Mrs Nagington said: "It's just a wonderful hobby.

"You make some fantastic friends for life. Lots of the girls who have been involved with the troupe, but aren't dancing now, still come along to support us.

"You get to stay fit and travel the country as well."
