Bar and restaurant franchises Hungry Horse and Wildwood Restaurant have been revealed as the final two tenants for the bar and restaurant units at Southwater One.

Wildwood will occupy the space on the corner between Telford Ice Rink and the new Premier Inn. Hungry Horse will be found on the ground floor of the new development.

Telford & Wrekin Council leader, councillor Kuldip Sahota, said: "I am delighted that we are now in a position where we can announce two more tenants for the Southwater development.

"This means all the units in the first phase of the development are fully allocated, adding a massive 13 new market-leading names to the town centre. We have a very exciting couple of months ahead as these open for business."

The two newly-announced restaurants will join the already revealed 11-screen IMAX Cineworld cinema and Starbucks, a Premier Inn, Zizzi's, Chimichanga's, Wagamama's, Nando's, Bella Italia, Pizza Express, Mimos and Harvester.

Southwater One opened its doors to the public on Monday, July 14. The gold-clad three-storey building includes the council's First Point contact centre, a 25,000-book library and a Costa Coffee outlet.

Excited visitors flooded the town centre building as it opened and nearly 15,000 visited during the first two weeks, according to Telford & Wrekin council spokesman Russell Griffin.

The library saw 8,500 visits during the second week and visitors have borrowed 7,800 books since it opened. A total of 1,437 customers have also been helped by staff in the relocated First Point customer contact facility.

The opening schedule for Southwater will see the Cineworld IMax open on Thursday. On August 16, chartered surveyors, estate agent and auctioneers Butters John Bee will open. The Premier Inn hotel is expected to open in early August, slightly later than originally scheduled, and the restaurants along the bottom of Southwater One will open in mid-September. Remaining restaurants will open in early October.
