The original inquiry, into plans by St Modwen to build a Sainsbury's on a site off Station Road, came to a premature halt when inspector Trevor Cookson, who was overseeing it, died suddenly.
A preliminary inquiry meeting is to be held on September 17, in the ballroom of the Royal Victoria Hotel in Newport, starting at 2pm.
