The council said it has already undergone "unprecedented" changes in the past year after targeting a £40m saving by 2017.

But now Councillor Barry Thomas, council leader, has revealed a further £15million will need to be saved during 2015/16. A series of consultation events will now be held across the county to discuss what services could be affected.

Councillor Thomas said: "The face of public service delivery is changing forever."

The events will be held at The Flash Leisure Centre, Welshpool on September 26; The Monty Club, Newtown on September 29 and Knighton Community Centre on October 3. Anyone who would like to attend should call (01597) 826160.
