Woman cut from hedge after biker smash
A woman had to be cut from a hedge so paramedics could reach her after a motorbike crash in Wem.
Four fire crews worked to release the motorcyclist after the collision on Shrewsbury Road.
The crash happened just after 1pm yesterday and crews freed the woman by 1.35pm.
A fire engine from Wem, another from Shrewsbury and two from Wellington went to the scene.
When the woman was freed she was taken to hospital in an ambulance but the nature of her injuries is not yet known.
Two people were also taken to hospital by ambulance after two cars crashed in Oswestry.
Three fire crews went, along with police and ambulance, to the collision at Gobowen at the junction with the A5 and the B5009.
No one was trapped after the crash at 3.30pm on Saturday and fire crews were only needed to make the vehicles safe.
Police managed traffic while ambulance crews treated the casualties at the scene before taking them to hospital.
