Karen Powell, 46, was devastated when she realised her gold wedding band was missing at Onslow Park.

She had last seen it on her finger at about 11.30am on Sunday before she entered the craft tent at 12pm.

Mrs Powell, who has been married to John for 25 years, has lost six stone so the ring was loose on her finger.

The couple, who have two children, Kirsty, 20 and Tammy, 18 are appealing to anyone who may have found the ring at the rally.

The popular annual event on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday attracted thousands to see steam powered machine from traction engines to fairground organs.

Visitors queued to get in to see the attractions from more than 1,000 exhibitors which included vintage buses and a miniature railway.

Mrs Powell, of Callow Crescent, Minsterley said: "I was queueing up to go into the craft tent when I realised my wedding ring was missing.

"I saw it on my finger before then and then it was gone. My heart just sank. I was really upset and devastated.

"I've lost six stone in weight so I think it's just slipped off. It's just a gold wedding band.

"It's not worth anything because we couldn't afford a lot when we got married but it's of enormous sentimental value to me.

"It was our 25th wedding anniversary in May and I've never taken it off."

The bar maid at the Horseshoes pub in Pontesbury has appealed to anyone who may have found it at the show to get in touch with the Shropshire Star.

"If anyone happens to find it please get in touch. I really want it back.

"It was about 11.30am when we got there and we went into the craft tent at about 12pm and it was gone by then.

"I mentioned it to someone on the gates but they said they would need a metal detector to find it."

Anyone who has found Mrs Powell's wedding ring should call reporter Jennifer Meierhans on 01743 283352.
