Ewe dies in sheep worrying attack
One ewe died and three others were injured in a sheep worrying incident at a Mid Wales farm, police have said.
An investigation has been launched into the incident which police say happened in the Llanfair Caereinion area over the weekend.
And officers have warned dog owners to keep their pets under control in the countryside or face potentially hefty fines.
Dyfed-Powys Police spokeswoman Sharon Reynolds said the attacks happened sometime between Friday afternoon and the following afternoon. The area's police community support officer Gary Gwilt warned dog owners it was an offence to allow their pets to worry livestock.
The latest incident comes after two dogs were shot following a spate of attacks on sheep across the region.
At least five reports of dogs threatening livestock were received over three days in south Shropshire. One dog was shot after killing two sheep and injuring six others at Upper Edgton, near Craven Arms, while a second dog is also believed to have been shot following a separate attack in the area.
