Telford running club cash for first aiders
A Telford running club has been given a funding boost thanks to a local development group.

The Lawley Village Developer Group has donated £250 from its Community Chest Fund to the Lawley Running Club.
The club will use the money to allow two of its members to become fully trained first aiders before taking part in a 5k charity run on September 6 to raise money for the mental health charity, Combat Stress.
The money was awarded as part of the Community Chest scheme run by the LVDG, which is made of of Barratt Homes, Charles Church, David Wilson Homes, Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey.
Andy Crozier, chairman of the Lawley Running Club, started the club a year ago with the aim of losing weight, now considerably lighter, he believes it has had a positive impact on the community.
He said; "We have 130 members running three nights per week, some run to improve their fitness but others just like to socialise with their neighbours.
"We have a charity run coming up and we're hoping to raise a large amount of money but first we would like to put two of our members forward to become trained first aiders.
"Unfortunately one of our members fell and broke her arm whilst running recently, so having some first aiders on board will be a big plus going forward."
Guy Scott, Project Manager for LVDG, said; "The Community Chest allows worthy causes within Lawley Village, such as the running club, to apply for extra funds to continue their good work and inspire more local people to get involved."
All types of community groups, charitable organisations, teams, clubs, schools and colleges can apply for funding through the Community Chest.
A maximum of £500 can be applied for at one time and priority will be given to those projects directly benefiting the people of Lawley Village.
