Mother and daughter cut free after Shropshire crash

A mother and daughter had to be cut from the wreckage of their car after a two-vehicle crash in Shropshire.

It happened on a series of bends on the Hope Valley Road near Minsterley at 7pm last night.

Their car came to rest against a crash barrier which stopped it toppling down an embankment and into a brook below.

Rob Corfield, assistant group commander for Shropshire Fire and Rescue, said the two women were left trapped in their car. The occupants of the other vehicle, two males, were uninjured.
