Latest move in Newport supermarket plan battle
The next step in a long running proposal for a supermarket to be built in Newport was being discussed today.

A preliminary inquiry meeting into an application which could see a Sainsbury's built on Station Road on land owned by Telford & Wrekin Council was taking place in the Royal Victoria Hotel.
Representatives from developer St Modwen, land owner and planning authority Telford & Wrekin Council and campaign group Save Newport Campaign were facing a planning inspector.
The full inquiry is due to start on January 20 next year.
