Woman admits lying over Shropshire death crash
A Telford woman has admitted lying to police about driving a car which was involved in an accident that saw a motorist and a horse die.
Latvian-born Liga Jaskova, of Turreff Avenue, Donnington, had been facing charges of causing death by dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
The charges relate to a crash involving two vehicles and a horse in Stump Lane, Weston Heath, near Shifnal, on September 18, 2012.
Armands Ozolins, from Great Chatwell, near Lilleshall, was killed in the accident.
But Jaskova pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice when she appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.
The charge says she lied to police that she was the driver of the Volkswagen Passat car involved in the accident.
The case was adjourned and Jaskova was bailed for a date to be set for sentencing.
