Fears raised over homes bid near Wem level crossing
Building 75 homes close to a problem level crossing would spark "serious concerns" over safety, say rail bosses.

Network Rail has objected to plans for the residential development in Wem amid fears that, with more people using the crossing, it could increase the number of accidents.
And with the Aston Road crossing known to shut for up to three hours, residents have often highlighted the dangers as people try to cross with the barriers closed, as well as the tailbacks it causes.
Network Rail's Barbara Morgan said: "The increased use of the crossings cannot be looked upon favourably by Network Rail."
But Network Rail said it may drop its objection if developer Berrys funds a plan to minimise the risk, like a footbridge.
