Kelly Lysy, 23, spent three days in intensive care after the incident in Ludlow and is still being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Her family say she is lucky to be alive.

Kelly was involved in a collision with a blue, MG ZR car, outside the Bull Hotel on Corve Street just after midnight on Saturday.

She was at first taken to Hereford Hospital but then transferred to Birmingham.

Her sister, Gemma Locke, 27, also from Ludlow, said: "Kelly spent three days in intensive care with a fractured knee, breaks to her leg and two fractures to her pelvis as well as a break at the base of her spine. She also had a ruptured bladder."

"It has been a very worrying time for Kelly and the family. She has two young children who have been in to see her today. Our mum and step-dad were on holiday when I got the call to say that she had been taken to hospital."

Gemma said Kelly's rehabilitation could take a long time and she was feeling "very down".

Police who are investigating the circumstances of the crash arrested three young men from the Birmingham area.

Detective Sergeant John Weaver said a 22-year-old from Halesowen, a 19 and a 27-year-old from Birmingham were arrested and released on bail on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grevious bodily harm.

Witnesses should call police on 101.
