Shrewsbury man 'filmed people naked in bathroom'
A man regularly installed a camera in the bathroom of the Shropshire house where he was living to be able to watch and record other occupants, a court has heard.
Andrew Williams, 50, set up the equipment and later removed it after recording a series of videos that were recovered from his computer.
A jury at Shrewsbury Crown Court heard yesterday that the unsuspecting victims – mainly women – were filmed naked in the bathroom using either the shower or toilet.
On one occasion it is alleged that a child was captured in the bathroom by the camera.
Williams, of Old Heath, Heathgates, Shrewsbury, denies a charge of voyeurism relating to the child for the purposes of looking at the images for sexual gratification, between September and November, 2012.
He also denies being in possession of extreme pornography between November 2009, and February 2010.
Williams has also pleaded not guilty to three allegations of making indecent images of a child on dates between October 2009 and February 2010, at a property.
Miss Cathlyn Orchard, prosecuting, told the jury that Williams had admitted three offences relating to voyeurism, involving the installation of the camera, and the recording of two women naked in the bathroom, on dates between September and November, 2012. The court heard that Williams used a laptop, which he acquired in 2010, and also had a computer tower found at the premises in Shrewsbury.
Miss Orchard said the material was discovered when other people at the address borrowed the laptop and were looking at stored photographs.
The trial continues.
