Cigarettes alert over Shropshire grass blazes
A dry weekend and strong winds led to a grass fire in Shrewsbury.

Undergrowth was set alight on land off York Road, Halescott Grange, Shrewsbury, yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters were also called to Newport Road in Market Drayton last night after a section of grass caught fire.
Crews used water and beaters to tackle both fires and Shropshire Fire Service urged people to take care with discarded cigarettes, which can ignite grass and fallen leaves.
