Wolverhampton's Carvers is back for a blockbuster sequel
The Godfather: Part II, Aliens, Terminator 2: Judgement Day – the movie world is littered with exciting second acts.
Now one famous Black Country firm is following in the footsteps of Hollywood by promoting the next instalment of its story with a blockbuster of a billboard.
Carvers has signalled its return from the devastating fire of 2012 with posters proclaiming: 'Carvers 2 the Return' and a line-up of workers who put top stars like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Cameron Diaz to shame.
The Hollywood-style poster comes complete with a catchy tag line, five-star ratings and even a 'BG' classification for 'builders guidance.'
The poster has gone up on Cannock Road, signalling the full-strength return of the builders merchants.
The billboard is the brainchild of the firm's marketing team which wanted to make a statement to mark the grand finale of the firm's £6 million rebuild.
Spread across the giant poster, the words 'They're back...and they're better than ever!' sit below a shot of Carvers staff dressed in work wear and armed with hammers, saws, trowels and spirit levels.
In the background, the new warehouse and showroom can be seen rising out of the mist.
The Cannock Road advert is one of five set to go up across the city over the next two weeks with the others due to be stationed in Deans Road, Bilston Road, Grove Street and an additional site on Cannock Road. The company's owner, Henry Carver, said he was delighted with the results of the campaign.
"We wanted to catch people's attention and really get the message across that we are back," he said.
"We have been through two-and-a-half tremendously difficult years. This is our way of announcing our return to having a major presence in the city."
The artwork is also set to feature on the back of buses during a 12-week advertising campaign.
Having traded in Wolverhampton for almost 120 years, the firm's sprawling Little's Lane site was reduced to rubble following the February 2012 blaze when 90 firefighters battled to stop flames spreading to liquid petroleum gas tanks which were stored on the site.
Students, families in nearby homes, businesses and a school were also evacuated.
Two hours was all it took for the landmark building to fall to the ground and Mr Carver was reduced to tears as the futures of his 200 workers hung in the balance.
But the site is now on course to re-open in two weeks with workers stationed at the site for 21 consecutive days to put the finishing touches to the new buildings and stock the shelves. The new site will feature a cafeteria and branches of Tile Choice, Chandlers Roofing, Rayton Electrical and paint merchants SJ Dixon.
"We have increased the range of products that we have on offer, meaning there are even more reasons to come to Carvers," said Mr Carver. "We are now within touching distance and everyone is in a really positive mood. If you look at the site now compared to the state it was in two years ago, it shows just how far we have come.
"It is great for the staff to be able to see everything take shape after the amount of hard work that has gone into the project."
