Shropshire inn for sale at £1.25 million
An 18th century Georgian coaching inn in Shropshire has gone on the market for more than £1 million.
The Salwey Arms in Wooferton, near Ludlow, will be sold by Birmingham-based auctioneers Christie & Co.
The Grade II listed inn on the A49 was empty for several years until it was taken over by current owners, Hugo and Cilla Lywood, in 2012.
The couple renovated the property, which has dining rooms, a bar, five letting rooms and a function room for up to 80 people.
Paul Reilly of Christie, who is handling the sale, said the accommodation side of the business could be development further.
He said: "Salwey Arms is well supported by residents and also attracts drinkers and diners from a nearby 32-bedroom motel.
"The business has also earned a reputation as an attractive wedding venue, with a large garden with seating for 120 covers."
Christie & Co is seeking offers of £1,250,000 for freehold interest in the property.
