Victim taken to hospital after skatepark robbery

A 26-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was robbed in the early hours at a skatepark.

Police today issued details of the incident in Newtown on November 8 and appealed for witnesses.

Two mobile phones and bank cards were taken during the robbery.

Dyfed Powys Police spokeswoman Katy Simmonds said: "The victim sustained injuries during the robbery and was admitted to hospital for treatment. He was later released. The robbery took place at a skatepark located at Trehafren playing fields.

"Police would particularly like to speak to two males who could have witnessed the start of this incident as they walked towards Trehafren housing estate. One was wearing a light coloured top."

"If anyone has more information they should call Detective Constable Zoe Powell at Welshpool Police Station on 101.

Three men have been arrested and charged with robbery. They will appear in court on November 21.
