Telford murder victim was stabbed in the neck, coroner reveals
A 59-year-old woman found murdered in a Telford flat had been stabbed in the neck, a coroner has confirmed.
Davinia May Loynton also suffered head injuries caused by a blunt force, according to Mr John Ellery, coroner for Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
Ms Loynton, affectionately known by family as Dink, was found dead in a flat in St John Street, Wellington, on September 22.
Mr Ellery said: "The cause of death has been established as blunt head injuries and stab wound to the neck."
Kevin Hyden, aged 34, of Glebe Street, Wellington has been charged with her murder and remanded in custody.
He is expected to enter a plea when he appears at Stafford Crown Court on December 22.
Five other people were arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further inquiries.
No further action has been taken against a 35-year-old-man and a 21-year-old woman, while a 38-year-old woman has been re-bailed until Monday.
Davinia worked at Serchem Ltd in Telford for almost 30 years.
