Firefighters were called to House of Fraser in Telford when a small fire broke out at about 1.10pm yesterday.
The fire, which is thought to have started in the upper mall lobby area nearer the store's exit doors, had been extinguished by the time crews got to the centre, but shoppers were evacuated for their safety.
Meanwhile, a motorist had a lucky escape when his van caught fire at Blue Bell Road near Wellington. Firefighters tackled the blaze on Saturday at about 7.30pm but the van was left severely damaged.
Firefighters were also called to two chimney blazes within 10 minutes, one at Dunnsheath, the other in Prees.
