Three crews from Market Drayton, Newport and Wellington went to the scene and there were traffic problems into the evening as queues built up during rush-hour.
The road was blocked in both directions between Newport and Sambrook following the crash.
An ambulance attended and staff treated the person trapped at the scene.
The road was cleared by 5.10pm but there was disruption along the road throughout the evening as the backlog of cars queued up gradually cleared.
