Divers join Shrewsbury search for missing Daniel Hodgin
Divers and underwater search teams today joined the search to try to find missing 20-year old-Daniel Hodgin.
Specialist teams from Nottingham Police and Dyfed-Powys Police joined the search, which took place at the weir area of the River Severn in Shrewsbury.
Daniel , from Madeley, Telford, failed to return from a night out with friends in Shrewsbury Town Centre on Saturday, November 22, over a week ago.
He last spoke to his mum at 5.30am on Sunday, November 23, when she called to offer him a lift home.
Daniel's family and police are extremely concerned as his disappearance is out of character.
Searches have been carried out in the area by police officers and dog handlers and West Midlands Search and Rescue have been searching the river and its banks.
Sunday marked one week since Daniel's disappearance.
Hundreds of volunteers attended the Buttermarket nightclub on Saturday to help spread the word and search for Daniel.
Chief Inspector Tom Harding said: "I would like to thank the hundreds of volunteers who have helped us with our investigation over the weekend. Countless posters and flyers were handed out to the community, raising vital awareness of Daniel's disappearance. We have now been able to complete the searching of the area in and around Daniel's last known location.
"We are growing increasingly concerned for Daniel who has now been missing for over a week. We believe that he left the Buttermarket nightclub at approximately 3.30am on Sunday 23 November and need to speak with anyone who believes they saw Daniel.
"We would urge people whilst going about their daily routine to keep a look out for anything that may assist in establishing Daniel's whereabouts or route taken, such as clothing, belongings or anything out of the ordinary, which could help us find him."
Daniel is white, around 5ft 9in with short spiked brown hair and stubble.
He was last seen wearing a grey Police polo shirt with dark blue jeans and black boots.
Anyone who has seen Daniel or may have any information is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 258 of Sunday November 23.
