Watch: Shropshire army cadets on parade for packing
A group of army cadets has been helping out Christmas shoppers in Shropshire.
Market Drayton Army Cadet Force completed a bag pack at Wilkinsons in Market Drayton at the weekend in order to raise money for charity.
The group raised a total of £465.15 which it will be splitting between the Together for Short Lives campaign and the rest to pay for broadband at their centre near Market Drayton.
The money raised by Together for Short Lives will then be given to Hope House.
Jim McIntosh, Market Drayton detachment commander, said: "This is the first bag pack we have organised and it went to plan.
"All the cadets enjoyed the day and everyone had a smile on their face.
"The customers were all very pleasant and made some lovely comments.
"We were very busy all day and a lot of people kindly donated.
"We chose to donate to Hope House as it is an important asset in Shropshire. We split the money so half went to the charity and half went to fund the broadband for our centre.
"All of the Duke of Edinburgh Award is done on the internet now so we wanted to supply broadband so the cadets can work on the award together at the centre.
"We were either going to have to put the subs up or do some fundraising. The money we raised will pay for the broadband for a year which is great."
A total of 25 cadets spent Saturday helping shopper pack away their goodies.
