Waldemar Chmielewski, of Hadley, Telford, snapped the picture at Aqualate Mere National Nature Reserve, near Newport. The photo shows the woodland reflecting off the open water at the park, which supports a diverse fish population, in particular pike and bream and large number of wintering and breeding wildfowl.

There will be plenty of opportunities for striking photographs this weekend.

Like the day Waldemar visited the nature reserve, the weather is turning cold, sunny and crisp again.

Temperatures that were in double figures in the middle of the week were this weekend dropping to a more seasonable level for this time of year, with the chance of frost in some areas of the county.
