Man in court over murder of Telford woman, 59

A 34-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Telford woman Davinia Loynton.

Kevin Hyden, of Glebe Street, Wellington, is charged over the death of the 59-year-old Ms Loynton – known by family members as Dink – who was found dead in a flat in St John Street, Wellington, on September 22 .

Hyden appeared at Stafford Crown Court yesterday.

The Recorder of Stafford, Judge Simon Tonking, adjourned the case and remanded Hyden in custody.

Hyden will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 23, when he is expected to give a plea to the charge.

Emma Lucas, 38, of Keats Avenue, Stafford, has been charged with assisting an offender by providing a false alibi in a murder investigation and possessing criminal property. She will appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court in the new year.

Initially four other people, three men and a woman, were also arrested on suspicion of murder. They were eventually released without charge.
