Fire crews were called to the property in Overdale at about 12.19pm this afternoon.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the blaze involving a gas fire was out as firefighters arrived.

Crews from Telford Central and Tweedale used a thermal imaging camera to check the house and gave residents advice on fire safety and good practice.

No injuries or damage to the house was reported.

Meanwhile, fire crews were also called out to tackle a number of chimney fires.

There was a chimney fire in Morda, near Oswestry, at about 9.13pm on Boxing Day.

A pump and chimney rods were used to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for any damage by crews from Oswestry who were at the home in Weston Road for about half an hour.

Meanwhile, at about 10.31pm crews were called to an address in Norbury, near Whitchurch.

They were at the address for about two hours tackling the fire but no lasting damage was reported.
