Firefighters battle four overnight blazes in Shropshire

Firefighters were called to bring an unattended bonfire under control in Claverley.

A crew from Bridgnorth and the support unit from Tweedale was called to the bonfire in Danford Lane at 10.06pm yesterday and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze. The crew returned to base at 11.41pm.

Meanwhile, a crew from Tweedale also attended a bin fire in Hill Lane Drive, Madeley at 10.17pm yesterday. One crew used a hose reel jet and left the scene at 10.26pm.

Telford Central crews also attended reports of a property fire in Church Street, Shifnal at 2.18am today.

Two appliances were mobilised but on arrival the incident was found to be a false alarm with good intent

The stop message was received at 2.36am.
