Batchcott Hall Farm, near Church Stretton, is being sold with 76 acres of pastureland and 65 acres of woodlands. In total there are 248 acres of land and there are also two streams running through the middle of the site and a keeper's cottage.

Estate agents Strutt & Parker said they have already had a lot of interest – despite the high asking price.

Kevin Boulton, partner at the estate agents, said: "This property came on the market a few days ago and we have already had quite a bit of interest in it from people who live locally, which is great.

"I think there is not enough farming property on the market at the moment so it is great to have this available.

"We have also had a few people show some interest in the keeper's cottage, but we won't be selling that until we have sold the main house. Then it will be up to the buyers what they do with it.

"All I can see is if you like the look of the house now, wait until the summer comes and you will love it even more.

The farm's keeper's cottage has also generated interest

"Great care and attention to detail were taken in the conversion to preserve the history of the property, which now offers an energy efficient home."

The farm and four-bedroom property has been described by the agents as "a picturesque grassland farm nestled among the Shropshire Hills", which makes the most of its "wonderful position".

The two-storey home is based very close to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Batchcott Hall Farm's main house is a converted barn still attached to the range that was formally part of Batchcott Hall, which is now used as luxury holiday accommodation.

The farm is just over three miles from the A49 and the land is currently being used for sheep grazing.

Villages nearby include Picklescott, Leebotwood and Ratlinghope, which all have pubs.
