Man charged with causing the death of a Telford teenager in car crash
A man has been charged in connection with a fatal car crash in Stoke-on-Trent last July which killed a Telford teenager.
Georgina Oakley, aged 18, from Deer Park Road in Wellington, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which happened on Baddeley Green Lane on July 23.
Georgina was a passenger in the black Vauxhall Vectra, which was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Following an investigation by the Regional Collision Investigation Unit, Jason Tatton was charged today.
The 24-year-old, from the Clough Hall area of Kidsgrove, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving; causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit.
He has been bailed to appear before magistrates in Newcastle on February 5.
Her sister Gema, 28, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, and has since been released from the hospital.
