Work by contractors Amey to replace pipes in Easthope, Weston and Stanton Long is due to start in March.

Severn Trent Water invites people to a drop-in session in Shipton Village Hall, from 4pm and 7pm, on Wednesday to discuss the plans.

Gareth Mead, of Severn Trent Water, said: "We want to make sure our customers continue to receive a reliable water supply. Unfortunately, the water pipes in the Much Wenlock area are now old and have started to leak, which could lead to interruptions in the water supply."

Mr Mead said because the work could cause disruption nothing had yet been confirmed and it was important customers raised any issues at the drop-in session.

He said: "

While we think we've found the best way of laying the pipes with the minimum impact, we're hoping that by talking to the community, they will help us to find those little gems of information which can make a huge difference to our plans.

"We know that working anywhere may cause disruption, but especially in rural villages like this and we'd like to apologise to anyone who will be affected by this work and to ask for their patience."
