Shropshire police officer faces child porn charges
A serving police officer who lives in Shropshire has been charged with possessing more than 30,000 pictures and videos of child abuse.
PC Peter Ba Han, 53, of Cooke Drive, Dawley, Telford, has been suspended from the force after the images showing sex attacks on youngsters were allegedly found on a computer at his home.
The Kingston-based Metropolitan Police constable was excused from attending a brief hearing at Southwark Crown Court yesterday but will return on May 26 to enter his pleas.
Han previously denied 14 counts relating to child pornography at Westminster Magistrates' Court and the case was sent to Crown Court for trial.
Police seized a computer and external hard drives from Han's home in Telford during an initial raid in May 2013, it is said. Han is on conditional bail.
