Callum Edwards, who is just 14 and from Donnington, Telford, first started racing in 2011. The Wrockwardine Wood Arts Academy pupil competed regionally in the first year but within 12 months was competing at national level.

He qualified for the 2012 World Championships and took part in the 2014 championships. Callum's parents Kieran and Jo Edwards, who run Wrekin Riders BMX Club at Dawley, said the love for BMX racing shone through and it was obvious their son had the talent and determination for the race track.

Mrs Edwards said: "Last year Callum went from strength to strength and finished the 2014 season ranked national number three on his 20-inch BMX and national number one on his cruiser. He also came away from the British championships with two British number two titles.

"Again he is regional champion for 2014 and has qualified for the 2015 world championships in July at Zolder where he will again ride in two classes."

Callum is now looking for a corporate sponsor to help him follow his dream.

Anybody interested in sponsoring Callum can call Mrs Edwards on 07928 562361.
