Meanwhile, another woman was trapped in her car and was taken to hospital with neck injuries following a second crash, just 45 minutes earlier on the B4117 between Mawley Oak and Cleobury Mortimer.

Both crashes took place on Saturday afternoon.

A woman driver was rescued from her Peugeot 307 by firefighters near Dobbies roundabout at Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, but had no serious injuries.

Crews from Baschurch, Shrewsbury and Wellington attended. Small gear and a thermal imaging camera were used and the woman was treated by paradmedics at the scene.

Her car had veered off the road and overturned into a hedge.

Earlier, firefighters from Cleobury Mortimer and Wellington attended the one-car crash on the B4117.

Two women were travelling together when it took place. One was taken to Worcester hospital but suffered no serious injuries.
