Jack-knifed lorry blocks Shropshire road
A lorry carrying a 41 tonne load jack-knifed on a busy south Shropshire road causing a big build up of traffic around the area.
Police were called to the A458 Harley Hill in Much Wenlock when the lorry, which has carrying glycerine partially blocked the road at about 11.30am.
It had got stuck on the hill and was unable to move without rolling back, which sparked problems for motorists along the main road.
Officers diverted traffic away from the area and closed a section of the road while waiting for a local farmer to help move the lorry.
Force duty inspector Mark Reilly said: "The farmer came to have a look but he did not have the right equipment for him to move the 41 tonne vehicle.
"Removing the cab would have seen the back end roll back into the public house, so we have recovery vehicles on the way to move the lorry from the road."
No one is believed to have been injured in the incident but there were sever delays around the B4371 Stretton Road junction as police diverted traffic.
