Telford man denies link to package of drugs found at dealer's home
A Telford man accused of supplying a quantity of drugs has told a jury he had no knowledge of how his fingerprints came to be on packages recovered by police.
Gino Dhillon, 28, suggested it was a "coincidence" his prints were found on two bags containing a kilo of drugs discovered at the home of a known dealer.
At Birmingham Crown Court yesterday Dhillon told the jury that the silver and green bags were never in his possession.
Dhillon, of Dalby Close, Leegomery, denies a charge of conspiring with Andrew Lowe and others to supply a Class B drug – known as M-CATT – in January and February 2013.
It is alleged Dhillon provided the kilo of M-CATT – with a street value of £30,000 – to Lowe, a known dealer.
Under cross examination at court yesterday Dhillon suggested it was a coincidence his prints were found and that Lowe could have taken the bags from his home when he had been working there as plumber.
"I don't know what the green bag was for, but it was never in my possession," he said.
He said he didn't know how the bag containing the drugs got to be under the bed at Lowe's address in Burnell Road, Admaston.
The jury has been told that at an earlier hearing 43-year-old Lowe pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge and his case had been adjourned for sentence.
The trial continues.
