Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a green Land Rover Defender 90 disappeared from outside a house on Clee Vantage in Clee Hill. It was taken sometime between 5pm on Tuesday and 4am on Wednesday.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "The vehicle was parked and secure, but they gained entry somehow. Nothing was left at the scene to indicate the method of entry."

A photo has been released of the stolen vehicle, which is described as having extra lights on the front as well as the distinctive number plate H1 8 MUD.

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 48s of February 11.

The theft follows two break-ins in nearby Cleobury Mortimer last week. Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for people acting in an unusual or suspicious way in the area after two houses had their patio doors forced open between February 3 and February 5.

Both houses, one on Ludlow Road and one on Tenbury Road, were unoccupied at the time and it is not yet known if anything was taken. Anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously at either location at the time should contact West Mercia Police quoting incidents 0132S and 0138s of February 5. Anyone with information about any of the incidents should Call West Mercia Police on 101.
