Alex Duffield-Dyche, 34, of The Hawthorns, Broxton, was ordered to register with the police as a sex offender indefinitely.

Duffield-Dyche had admitted the offence at an early stage in Welshpool Magistrates Court in January, Mold Crown Court was told.

Judge Philip Hughes told him that he had got on top of the woman and pushed himself down upon her.

He had ripped her clothing and quite understandably she feared that she was about to be raped.

"This was a serious assault," he said.

At the time Duffield-Dyche was on a community order for an earlier harassment charge.

Judge Hughes said the Duffield-Dyche would be given credit for his early guilty plea and that he also took into account the defendant's mental health issues.

Prosecutor Caroline Harris told how tDuffield-Dyche pushed himself upon the victim and said "this is what you want".

Geraint Jones, defending, said that his client deserved full credit for pleading guilty at the earliest opportunity.
