Liam Evans, 22, denies two charges of inappropriately touching a woman on November 8, 2013.

Evans, of Steventon Road in Wellington, said he was giving the alleged victim a massage following a night out in Pussycats nightclub in Wellington.

He told Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday that he met the woman for the first time on the night out and they had been talking outside the nightclub.

He said: "She had told me I was handsome and I had offered to read her palm, which is a jokey line I often say to people to break the ice."

Evans said once they had got back to his house she changed into pyjamas and he offered to give her a massage which she accepted.

"Then she said 'I can't do this, I have got a boyfriend' and I stopped instantly," he said.

"She looked like she felt upset that she had let it go as far as she did.

"She didn't say once to stop up until that point though."

He added: "She went back to the living room and I heard her on the phone and she left."

The trial continues.
