Two taken to hospital after crash near Ludlow

Two people have been taken to hospital after a two-car crash on a main route near Ludlow.

One of the two had to be freed from the wreckage by fire crews after a collision on the A4117 at Bitterley, near Ludlow, at about 8.10am today.
Neither are believed to have been seriously injured, but both have been sent to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital minor injuries unit for assessment and treatment.
The collision happened on the road near Henley Hall. Fire crews from Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow and Wellington, along with a rescue tender, were sent to the scene to free one of the drivers who was trapped.
Jamie Arrowsmith, speaking for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We had two ambulances and one paramedic at the scene. One casualty had a shoulder injury and one was complaining of back pain.
"Both were treated at the scene and then sent to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital."
