Newtown man in court accused causing suffering to dog
A man has appeared in court accused of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog which had just given birth.

Carl Haydn Cowans is accused of not getting veterinary care for the animal after it had had difficulty giving birth
at a property in Brooklands Road, Llandrindod Wells.
Cowans, 33, of Orchard Walk, Newtown, denied the charge when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates Court yesterday. He was released on unconditional bail and a trial date will be fixed for later in the year.
