Man accused of aggravated burglary and criminal damage in Whitchurch

A Whitchurch man has been charged in connection with aggravated burglary and criminal damage in the town.

Police were called to Whitchurch at 8.30am on Sunday where a fence panel was damaged in Bark Hill.

They received further calls at 12pm of a broken window of a workshop and damage to a rear door in another part of the town.

A further call was received about an attempted burglary on Smallbrook Road and then an aggravated burglary on Highgate where reports said the offender was in possession of a hammer.

Kieran Burke, 23, of Pauls Moss, Whitchurch, appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He was charged with two counts of criminal damage, an attempted burglary and an aggravated burglary.

Burke was released on bail to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on May 11.
