Fire rips through Mid Wales house overnight

A fire ripped through the roof of a house in Mid Wales last night.

Firefighters were called to the home off the B4392 in Arddleen, near Llanymynech, at about 6pm. The roof was severely damaged, but the occupants managed to escape and there were no injuries.

In another fire, bales of hay went up in flames in a field near Ellesmere.

The fire, involving 35 bales, happened at Crosmere. Two crews from Ellesmere and Wem attended at 4.30pm yesterday.

A farm storage building on a country road was also heavily damaged by fire in Wroxeter on Saturday.
