The Carmichael School of Theatre Arts will be raising money for the Georgia Williams Trust at its show in Telford this weekend.

More than 100 youngsters aged from just three have been rehearsing for the show at The Place at Oakengates Theatre since September.

Georgia, who was killed almost two years ago, took dance lessons at the school as a child, along with her older sister Scarlett.

Her family set up the Georgia Williams Trust in her memory.

The aim is to generate funds to enable young people to participate in life-building activities and contribute to the local community.

As well as dancing at the school, Georgia was a former head girl at Ercall Wood Technology College, a member of the student council at New College, part of the match day safety team at AFC Telford United and was a cadet corporal with 1130 Squadron, Air Cadets.

Money from the sale of programmes and a raffle held at every show will raise money for the trust.

School principal Nicola Carmichael-Phillips said:

"My memories of Georgia and her big sister Scarlett are as fresh and vivid today as if transported back many years, two sisters leaving a lasting impression on myself and many others.

The students will be showcasing ballet and modern dance

"Georgia's cheeky yet endearing smile; a twinkle of mischief in her eyes; a bubbly personality that could fill a room and an infectious laugh that made everyone smile.

"She was always talented, a big personality and strongly committed to everything she did. Her death at such a young age was terribly sad."

The show will take place at The Place on Saturday with performances at 2pm and 6pm and Sunday with the shows at 11am and 3pm.

It will feature excerpts from the ballet Le Corsaire and tap, modern and contemporary dance numbers.

There will be performances from the school's recently formed musical theatre group and

drama sketches and dances to commemorate World War One.

The school, based in Oakengates, Telford, also runs classes each week in Wem and Shrewsbury.
