Ellesmere shopkeeper vows to defy burglars
Shopkeeper Julie George has vowed that she will not let a break-in at her antiques shop ruin her future.
Two men threw a brick at the window of Georgiana Antique & Interiors, Ellesmere, shattering the glass, in an early hours raid.
They then kicked in the door of the premises in Market Street.
They went for the shop's e-cigerette stand, but were disturbed by the tenant in the flat above the business.
The men fled with five e-cigarette kits, which are worth about £200.
The break-in took place between 3.30am and 4am on Sunday, March 22, and police are appealing for witnesses.
Ms George said today that she wanted to move on from the burglary.
She added: "I just want to forget about it and move on now.
"I am just going to be carrying on as normal.
"I have been running the business for 11 months now and never had any problem or troubles.
"The past is the past. I just hope they find whoever did it."
Ms George said she sold the e-cigarettes on behalf of another business person in the town.
She added that if it had not been for a neighbour giving chase much more might have been stolen.
Two men were witnessed running away from the shop, both are described as white males who are thought to be in their late teens.
One was wearing a grey-hooded top, the other was wearing a blue-hooded top.
Ms George said that CCTV outside the shop had been unable to capture good images of the men.
As a result she was now planning to install a camera inside the shop.
