When Tracey Wilson discovered a lump on her breast both she and her husband Bob knew they faced a potentially life-changing challenge.

Since Tracey was diagnosed with cancer in May, she has undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy at the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in her battle to see off the disease.

But Tracey and Bob have turned the devastating diagnosis into a force for good. Bob has made a video of their journey last year, showing pictures from their marriage in March last year, holidays and diagnosis as well as 33-year-old Tracey's treatment. The video has had more than 13,000 views so far.

Bob will also run the London Marathon on April 26. Funds raised through sponsorship for Bob's marathon run and views of the online video will go to the Lingen Davies Cancer Relief Fund. So far about £1,700 has been raised.

Tracey's journeyAs promised I'd like to let you all know why I have chosen to run this year's London Marathon in aid of The Lingen Davies Cancer Trust. If you can all take 3 minutes to watch my video you will know the reason. Firstly I'd like to thank the fantastic staff at Lingen Davies for looking after my wife.I understand that you might not all have spare money to donate but you can still help out, if you can like and share my status hopefully this may raise awareness and if this makes one person you love check themselves for lumps and bumps then this will be a success.I have a page for donations, www.virginmoneygiving.com/BobWilson

Bob, 41, from Whitchurch, said he had been inspired by his wife's positive attitude to life throughout her illness and he is now taking on the marathon in her honour.

He said: "It started off when Tracey discovered a lump and got it checked out and we found out it was breast cancer.

"I am a keen runner and athlete anyway but while Tracey was having chemotherapy and radiotherapy and care at the Lingen Davies centre in Shrewsbury I asked if I could run the marathon for them.

"I just wanted something good to come from a bad situation.

"I have got the easy part, Tracey has had the difficult part and hard things to deal with like losing her hair and she has kept active and positive.

"We have been determined that we won't let cancer win – Tracey has stayed as normal as possible all the way through.

"If just one person sees the video and thinks they should check themselves for lumps then it will be worth it.

"We have a running total of £1,700 so far and the initial target was less than that."

the couple said the hospital has supported them throughout the difficult time and they hope to give something back to the volunteers.

Mrs Wilson said: "They are so positive and the ladies that look after you don't make you feel bad – they are just so lovely and human.

"It doesn't feel like a hospital when you go into it, they are fantastic there.

"I am really pleased Bob is doing the marathon – it is phenomenal."

Mr Wilson will be running alongside his identical twin brother who will be raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness.
