Wem roads to close for vital works
The first stage of a series of roadworks has begun in Wem.
New Street, a major access road for the town, will now be closed for essential resurfacing work until April 10.
After this, on April 12 Soulton Road, Wem will be closed again, after supply issues left the workforce unable to finish the job earlier.
Drainage and resurfacing work was originally due to take place along Soulton Road, from February 16 to March 27.
But this date has now been extended after an unforeseen supply issue left the workforce short of the materials required to complete the job. The work now due to be completed by April 17.
Soulton Road will partially reopen until April 12. The work will then recommence from April 13 to April 17.
A signed diversion route via Pyms Road and Lowe Hill Road will be in operation during the road closure.
