Kevin and Emma Richards have only been married 13 years since they tied the knot

But they made up for that by having the white wedding they have always dreamed of – complete with a shiny red tractor.

When the couple got married in 2002, following a whirlwind six month romance, 33-year-old Emma got married in a purple dress bought from Debenhams and arrived on a green tractor.

Kevin, 33, is a farm worker and says it was the natural transport to the ceremonies. He gave it a clean and even fitted it with a carpet.

Emma added: "This has been a very special day for us, as two years ago I was taken ill and admitted to the stroke ward, and I have recently been diagnosed with MS.

"We were going to do it in 10 years time but after what's happened to recently we decided we couldn't wait any longer.

"So doing this means a lot to us as last time it was a very small wedding at the old Wellington Registry Office, and now we can share it with all out family and friends.

"It's also extra special because our daughter Sophie is able to be here and share the memories with us.

"When we got married in November 2002 I got married in a purple dress and Kevin didn't even have a proper suit, so we really made the effort this time.

"And of course we had to have the tractor as that's our signature touch – the only difference is now it's red when it was green before."

After the couple, from Leegomery, renewed their vows at the registry office in Wellington Civic Centre they then went over to the Fallow Fields Pub, in Hadley where they bought a drink for their guest.

Then on the night they continued the celebrations by having the reception at the Hadley Park Hotel.
